We invite you to join us at our annual Swedish Midsummer festival! Once a year we gather to play traditional games, enjoy great food and dance in celebration of this event. It is traditionally held every year the 24th of June, but in order to make everyone able to join we have shifted it over to the weekend that is the closest to the date.
The traditional Swedish Maypole (majstång) is decorated with flowers and raised as the main event. We will then proceed to play games and dance around the pole to the tunes of Swedish traditional music performed by students of Tobetsu. There will be traditional snacks to be had, and plenty of entertainment. In addition, there will be a market in the courtyard and our cherished glass works will also have a stall.
In 2020, Due to COVID-19 and to prevent the spread of infection, the committee include SCF decided to cancel 37th Midsummer in Tobetsu.
We are very sorry for this decision and to disappoint you all, but it is the time to stay patient, we are sure to hold on a large scale next year!
